Vomiting nursing bitch!

My lovely springer spaniel gave birth 10 days ago to a litter of 8 (of which only 5 survived). For the last 24 hours she has been sick (approx 5 times) which is most unlike her. She is usually a tremendously greedy dog and we have been feeding her extra to keep up with the demands on her during this period when the pups are dependant on her. She is much quieter than normal and, although she has had some scrambled eggs she doesnt seem to be interested in eating nor drinking. Normally if one of our dogs has an "off" stomach we will keep a good eye on them for 48 hours before becoming unduely concerned, but because she is wheening these pups i am concerned not only for her health but also that she might pass something on to the pups. I intend taking her to the vets later today but just wondered if anyone has experienced similar.

She was checked over by the vet after birth, its not her first litter but she did have quite a long labour and the last pup was born asleep 48 hours after the first. Vet gave her and the pups a full examination and she seemed to be fine, but since taken a bit of a nose dive!

I am concerned that shes not drinking enough and have offered her water, she looked at me like i was trying to poisen the poor devil.

Anyway, has anyone experienced similar??
